Alexander Poels

Alexander Poels joined PETERKA & PARTNERS in January 2005 in Slovakia. Between 2006 and 2008 he co-managed the Ukrainian branch. Since 2009 till 2011 he served as the General Director of PETERKA & PARTNERS Ukraine. In 2010 he was appointed a partner.

In his practice he focuses on Mergers and Acquisitions, Litigation and Arbitration, EU and Competition Law, International law, Intellectual Property, Maritime and Environmental law.

He has assisted among others Veolia, PSA Peugeot Citroen, Novo Nordisk, Groupe Bel, Konica Minolta, Geodis Calberson and Oney (Group Auchan).

• Faculty of Law of Katholieke Universiteit in Leuven, Belgium (LL.M.)
• Faculty of Law of University of Iceland in Reykjavík, Iceland (LL.M.)

Other:
Alexander Poels is a Belgian citizen and acquired experience abroad in 11 countries, including in Germany, Belgium, France, Spain, Australia, Iceland, Canada and the United States. He has published numerous legal articles, e.g. in the Netherlands Quarterly of Human Rights.

Languages: Mr. Poels is fluent in English, French, Dutch, German and Spanish and has good knowledge of Russian, Ukrainian and Afrikaans.
